A new season of The Voice just kicked off this week, but Season 23 Blind Auditions are apparently set to start filming next month. This is a sign that the show will be back for a spring season, after only airing in the fall this year.
The Voice to Begin Taping Season 23 Blind Auditions
The website 1iota, which gives fans access to free tickets for shows such as The Voice, currently lists filming dates for Season 23 Blind Auditions on October 13, 14, 15, and 16. Fans can request tickets for the tapings now.
According to the site, those interested in attending should be fully vaccinated and wear face coverings at all times unless told otherwise. Filming takes place in Universal City, California, with two tapings each day at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. PT.
The Voice began holding virtual auditions in June of this year. Fine print about auditioning made it clear that potential contestants should be available between October 2022 and May 2023. This would seem to fit the typical production timeline of a spring season.

Is the Show Going Back to Twice a Year?
This year, The Voice moved to a one-season format, skipping a spring season to only air in the fall. This made room for the new show American Song Contest earlier this year. However, American Song Contest has not yet been renewed for a second season on NBC.
It now seems pretty certain that The Voice will return for a spring season in 2023, making us wonder if we’ll get two seasons next year, or if the show will skip the next fall season instead. Either way, we won’t have to wait long after the current season comes to an end.
The coaching panel for The Voice Season 23 has yet to be announced. This season, Camila Cabello joined the show, as Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande departed. Gwen Stefani returned after a hiatus, while John Legend and longtime coach Blake Shelton stayed put. Could a former coach return? Hopefully we’ll find out soon.
